The other day Savanna misplaced her cookie, she was sure someone had taken it and asked me to call the police. We found it later on the table, and she was glad nobody went to jail over her lost cookie.

Halloween

When we got home from trunk or treating we had the kids dump out their candy the way Tim and I used to. Though we would count and organize ours. Tim told them they could eat one candy, I asked him how many he ate as a kid on Halloween, I said "we probably should not get into that." Then we dumped all the candy (this is the first year they brought more home then we gave out) into a basket, something that both Tim and I would never have allowed when we were kids. Oh the joys of being in charge, our kids know no different. What were our parents thinking letting us eat to our hearts content and then stash all the rest in our secret hiding places. Now a days its the ease of trunk or treating when all the loot is gone in 20 minutes. These kids know nothing of the hard work we went through to get our well deserved candy. Once my brother changed three times into different costumes to go to the houses again. Now the snotty kids ask you for the rest of your candy on there 7th visit to your car. If these kids were smart they would ransack a neighborhood who is trunk or treating of the people still at home who are more then happy to divulge a ton of candy on the few kids who show up. I took my kids after trunk or treating up the street to a few houses so that they know the old fashioned way of Halloween and they stacked up with all the good candy too. that will become our new tradition we cannot let these kids forget the journeys of their forefathers

The next adventure our family was able to encounter was Mom leaving for the weekend to head over to Boston with her sister to see Uncle Bryce get his masters degree. They all lived and had some fun no real problems, I think maybe I will break away more often. The only hard part was that my sister and I were going in the place of grandma and grandpa who were supposed to go until Grandpa had surgery in April and then caught pneumonia which is never good for a person especially a person of 83 he spend 9 days in ICU and on a ventilator another three months in rehab and and extra two in an assisted care fliving center. He happily left that all behind to return home in September to his newly remodeled house. After having a feeding tube all that time he was happy on thanksgiving to be chewing his food. He is now back to work full time and doing quite well.

Tim and i started off the year with a bang and decided to take a much needed break and leave the kids with grandma to go to Hawaii for a week. We mostly stayed in kuaui which we absolutely loved, we did head over to Oahu to check out the beautiful beaches turns out a lot of other people like Waikiki beach, so we prefer the qiet solitude of Kuaui a bit better. We had a great time in the sun but Tim came home to a problem with his back, and problem that went unchecked until later. The kids however were sadder to see Grandma go then they were Mom and Dad, what a great Grandma!!
